Title: Quantum Mechanics and Nanotechnology

Understanding the properties of materials is of vital importance to science, industry and society. I will explain how we can use quantum mechanics to do this, and describe how nanotechnology uses the properties of materials at the atomic scale. I will illustrate the lecture with research from UCL on the atomic structure of different materials.
